About the Role

The Junior GenAI Engineer will work on the AI layer of the product, including CS Copilot (real-time call intelligence), LLM-powered document understanding, and AI feature pipelines. This role involves building real AI-integrated systems under the guidance of senior engineers, with an expectation to grow into owning AI features end-to-end within 12-18 months. The ideal candidate will possess genuine engineering foundations and the ability to integrate AI into a production codebase without constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Work on the AI layer of the company's product, including CS Copilot, LLM-powered document understanding, and AI feature pipelines
• Integrate AI into a production codebase
• Grow into owning AI features end-to-end within 12-18 months
• Build real AI-integrated systems and understand how they fail to avoid repeating mistakes

Qualifications

• 1.5 to 4 years of full-time professional software development experience (internships do not count)
• Genuine engineering foundations with at least basic backend depth
• Proven ability to build real AI-integrated systems, moving beyond API wrappers or tutorials
• Experience integrating AI into a real data flow, not just standalone scripts
• Awareness of AI failure modes (e.g., hallucinations, off-topic responses, latency spikes) and approaches to address them
• Ability to implement basic evaluation or quality measurement for AI outputs (e.g., manual testing, human review, accuracy checks)
• Proficiency in Python for backend development; experience with FastAPI, Django, Go, or Node.js is a strong positive
• Demonstrated experience with deployment or hosting of AI services (e.g., cloud functions, containerized services)
• Evidence of self-initiated AI projects or contributions outside of job requirements or college coursework
• A public technical footprint (e.g., GitHub with real AI projects, technical blog posts, Kaggle/Hugging Face contributions)
• A visible deepening trajectory in AI system development, moving beyond basic API calls
